Hey all. It's been dead around here for a long time, but seeing as I have only had very, very negative thoughts about Tucker lately, this little piece of fluffy humour from The Daily Caller cheered me up immensely, and I thought that maybe you would like it too. Why, I almost forgot all about his and Greta Van Susteren's recent "debate" while reading it!
( Tucker Carlson drenched by ungrateful ‘journalists’ )

Note: That's some creative censoring of Tucker's no doubt impressive swearing.
I would have given almost anything to have seen this happen. And maybe get a chance to discretely reach out and hold him under the water for a bit. Not long. Just until he stops moving. *Cough* Sorry.

| Tucker's words get him in trouble... again. |
[29 Dec 2010|08:46pm] |
Hello all. It's been awhile since I've ventured 'round these parts and miss you all! :D
So Tucker Carlson is currently trending on the Top 10 subjects for Twitter and it got me thinking - what the hell did he do now. Apparently, his words have gotten him in trouble again.
The Los Angeles Times Quotes Tucker:
"I'm a Christian," Carlson quipped mere days after the celebration of the birth of the Prince of Peace. "I've made mistakes myself, I believe fervently in second chances, but Michael Vick killed dogs, and he did in a heartless and cruel way. And I think, personally, he should've been executed for that. He wasn't, but the idea that the president of the United States would be getting behind someone who murdered dogs? Kind of beyond the pale.
Say what now, Tucker? D:

| Tucker Carlson vs. Keith Olbermann: A Battle of the Bitches |

In case someone managed to miss it, here is the full saga I like to call Tucker Carlson Proves That He Is a Bitchy 13-year-old Girl, as found on ONTD-political:
The day before yesterday, Phawker.com got a hold of an email exchange between Stu Bykofsky, conservative columnist for the Philadelphia Daily News, and keith@keitholbermann.com--yes, that Keith Olbermann. Phawker posted the exchange as HOT DOCUMENT: Keith Olbermann vs. Stu Bykofsky and included the following editorial note:
EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a testy email exchange between The Daily News’ Stu Bykofsky and MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann regarding the latter’s suspension. Olbermann breaks his media silence to berate Byko and takes great offense at Byko’s column from last Thursday which itemized the respective ideological affiliations of guests on Olbermann’s The Countdown and Bill O’Reilly’s The Factor and concluded that O’Reilly was the more fair and balanced. Whether Juan Williams, Alan Colmes or Geraldo Rivera actually qualify as legitimate voices of the left — and not Fox News-financed straw men — remains debatable at best, in our opinion. Still, the exchange makes for an entertaining read as the insults fly fast and furious and much pettiness ensues. Olbermann also goes out of his way to insult the man that suspended him, MSNBC’s Phil Griffin, although Olbermann denies in the email exchange that Griffin is actually the boss of him. Ballsy. All dialogue guaranteed 100% for real.
There's just one problem. That's not Keith Olbermann's email address any more, and the third commenter tells Phawker as much.
All 100% real….except it’s not, of course. Someone was obviously scamming the gullible Mr Byko. KeithOlbermann.com is not owned or run by Keith Olbermann. It was purchased as a domain by Tucker Carlson and his Daily Caller some months ago as a little prank on Keith O.
So one of Carlson’s troops apparently impersonated Olbermann and “journalist” Byko fell for it. Nice.
Oops. Phawker promptly posts a correction.
UPDATE: We’ve been punked, it would seem. Turns out right wing web site The Daily Caller purchased the domain name KeithOlbermann.com over the summer. Long time Olbermann nemesis Tucker Carlson crowed to Michael Calderone at Yahoo News that he planned to use the email address Keith@KeithOlbermann.com. We had it on good authority that this was all legit, but it would appear that is not the case. Our apologies. We will leave this up as penance.
Phawker has to eat more crow, as the real Keith Olbermann weighs in.
"If you see a supposed email exchange between me and somebody named Bykofsky @PhillyDailyNews - complete fake. Email address shown not mine."
The story sprouts legs and starts running around the internet, as Huffington Post tells the story of the troll. Phawker does its best imitation of a facepalm.
THIRD UPDATE: Christ, now it’s on Huffington Post. All of a sudden we feel like a teenage girl who can’t distinguish between good attention and bad attention.
HuffPo's readers respond with 4000+ comments, a few of which are even worth reading.
Finally, Tucker Carlson confirms to Michael Calderone that he was indeed the hand inside the fake Olbermann sockpuppet.
From the Yahoo! News article: Carlson, reached by phone Tuesday night, confirmed he impersonated Olbermann in the email responses to Bykofsky.
"Could you resist?" Carlson said. "It was just too funny. The flesh is weak."
Carlson said he didn't expect the email exchange to be published.
Yeah, right. If that were so, then why would he have written the following?
"As if.
I could have Phil Griffin fired tomorrow if I felt like it, trust me. And if he keeps yapping about me in public, I may. For the moment, however, keeping Phil around is like having a drunk chimp in the office — more amusing than threatening.
Feel free to correct the record in your "column."
KO"
Finally, Phawker's last update on the post takes a little bit of unfunny revenge on Mr. Carlson.
RELATED: In a continuing effort to combat identity theft, New York recently enacted an amendment to the Penal Law making it a crime to impersonate another person or pretend to be a public servant by means of online communication. Specifically, New York’s Internet impersonation law amends section 190.25 of the Penal Law by adding Subdivision 4, making it a crime to impersonate another person by electronic means, including through use of a website, with the intent to obtain a benefit or injure or defraud another person. It also prohibits using such electronic means to pretend to be a public servant in order to induce another person to submit to false authority or to act in reliance on that false pretense. Internet impersonation is a Class A misdemeanor and carries a maximum penalty of a $1,000 fine and a one-year term of imprisonment for each violation or act of impersonation. The new law became effective on November 1, 2008.

I'm... Astounded. Buying the domain name is one thing, joking about using the keith@keitholbermann.com mail address is another thing, but actually posing as KO, in an attempt to slander him, that is in a whole other league! Fuck you, Tucker, fuck you hard, without preparation or lube.
He wasn't even very good at it. Tucker Carlson, possibly the worlds worst RP'er.
I am writing hate-fic as I type XD
ETA: Nothing would make me happier than seeing Tucker in court, begging not to be sent to prison. Yeah, I am that twisted.

Tucker appears to be guest-hosting the Hannity show tonight. On right now, reruns at midnight EST.
(Has he lost weight? He's looking thinner tonight than I thought he had for a while. And he still sucks at knotting a normal tie.)

Well, a Tucker hearing, at any rate.
On last Thursday's radio show, Glenn Beck was mocking Tucker's pronunciation of "Copenhagen". He told his sidekick to get Tucker on the phone so they could mock him in person. His sidekick insisted Tucker was too smart to actually call in.
Au contraire.
Best out-of-context quote: "Look, I deserve the spanking and I'm proud to get it."
(Link leads to a transcript. Allegedly there are audio clips, but I think they're for subscribers only.)

Just saw an ad for a Tucker special on Fox this Friday at 9pm eastern. Apparently the delightful Mr. Carlson is going to tell us what kinds of subversive pinko Commie things our children are being taught in school. Maybe if the ratings are decent he'll be on the road to getting his own show.
Anybody else going to watch? We could have a live post... all four of us.

He's on the Hannity show tonight. It's on right now (well, the show is on right now - Karl Rove is the guest right this minute, which I can't in good conscience recommend anyone watch), or it reruns at midnight EDT (and possibly again at 5 or 6 a.m.?)
He used that super-dorky pic of Tucker in the teaser at the beginning, too. I'm sure you all know the one I mean. Oh, Sean, you can't hide your forbidden passion.

This week's chat was all about healthcare reform. And also Tucker's hotness, or lack thereof.
Houston: Thank you for taking questions, and Tucker, you seem to be a reasonable and principled...something.
Anyway, do either of you feel that there is any chance that our country will realize that a health care "overhaul" is necessary, but that it will never please everyone - that in order to make some progress, everyone's going to have some of their sacred cows roughed up a little bit?
Ana Marie Cox: Tucker is reasonable, principled and smokin' hot. There's a reason why do these chats from separate rooms.
And while what you describe is probably what will happen I don't think you can call it "overhaul."
Tucker Carlson: I do these chats from my kitchen in my housecoat, face covered in cold cream and curlers in my hair. That's the real reason Ana and I are separated.
If you're looking for an imperfect system that nobody loves but most people are basically pleased with -- and it sounds like you are -- look no further. We already have that.
Fangirls, you may now commence drawing pictures of Tucker in cold cream and curlers.

| New Site |
[26 May 2009|05:25pm] |

Tucker Carlson to launch right-leaning HuffPo alternative @ 12:20 pm by Michael O'Brien Pundit Tucker Carlson publicly announced Tuesday that a right-leaning news site resembling the Huffington Post he's been planning will go live within weeks.
Carlson will launch TheDailyCaller.com, which he said would focus on reporting on the Obama administration and "adding facts to the conversation."
"We are a general-interest newspaper-format style site," Carlson told conservative bloggers at the Heritage Foundation on Tuesday. "There just aren't enough people covering this administration and telling the people what's going on."
Carlson, a former conservative and libertarian pundit (most notably on CNN), touted his site as a home for basic reporting.
"Tell the truth, and be accurate," Carlson said of the venture's goals. "It's very important to live up to the basic standards of journalism."
Carlson said that the site's reporters would share in the profits based on how much traffic is drawn in by their work. He said the site would seek to "drive" the news, similar to the Drudge Report, the Huffington Post, the New York Times, and other major news outlets. (The site's motto, Carlson said, is "every seven minutes," and seeks to be "even faster than Drudge.")
He also said that the site would not be a discussion forum for the future of the Republican Party, though he said there would be opinion journalism on the site. (Fellow right-leaning pundit David Frum had launched a site for that purpose earlier this year.)
"It will not be a forum for discussing the future of the Republican Party," Carlson explained. "There are forums for that conversation. I'm interested in that conversation, but it will not take place in our site."

Tucker's story on The Daily Beast about how Jon Stewart is is unfunny and crazy is absolutely amazing.
Also Tucker was on the Joe Scars radio show yesterday. (right-click to save) I don't know when he comes in or how long he's on, because I haven't listened yet. But as a forewarning, Joe wasn't there so listening means having to suffer thru Mika as host of the show.

Oh dear.
Here, via Huffington Post, is some transcript and a highlights video of Tucker's appearance on CNN's Reliable Sources. Includes such brilliant moments as Tucker calling Jon a 'partisan hack', which sounds oddly familiar to me, somehow... The show's producers respond by showing a clip from the Crossfire Incident, as they rightly should. Tucker's 'I'm not bitter!' is painted on, liek woah.
It's kind of uncomfortable to watch. Proceed with caution.
ETA: Full video is on YouTube, in two chunks. If the highlights alone didn't make your toes curl, this will.

Did you know there is a magazine dedicated to cigar smoking? And that our boy Tucker is on the cover of the winter 2008/2009 issue?
It's true.
Here's the article (or part of it, anyway), which features a few pictures of Tucker smoking a cigar (the first one is Limbaugh-ish)
